CHROMIUM CARBIDE OVERLAY PLATE

A WIDE CHOICE OF PLATES & THICKNESSES...
Offering excellent resistance to abrasive wear under moderate to high impact
conditions, the ABRACLAD range of chromium carbide overlay plate is available in a
choice of standard sizes up to a maximum of 4000 mm x 2000 mm and with a choice
of thicknesses from 5mm to 40mm .
Virtually any alloy / base plate combination can be supplied with typical overlay
thicknesses ranging from 2mm to 17mm, and base plate thicknesses from 3mm to
30mm. The base plate is normally S235JR (St 37 2) but can be any weldable steel
including stainless as well as CrMo grades.

NOMINAL OVERLAY COMPOSITION...
The wear performance of chromium carbide overlay plate is not solely a function of
hardness but relies on a microstructure densely packed with primary chromium
carbides. The microstructure of ABRACLAD 60 (A60) has been refined to offer the ideal
combination of abrasion and impact resistance.
Our material has a high chrome alloy overlay with a nominal
32% Cr composition with
small additions of manganese and other elements achieving a microstructure /
hardness of 60 63 HRC

ABRACLAD
material. The full ABRACLAD range is manufactured to EU quality standards and each
plate comes with a detailed quality test certificate, which is sent on delivery
confirmation.
